Action-packed finale of the MXGP 2019
On 15th September 2019, for the final time this year, the MXGP competitors went head-to-head on the racing track in Shanghai - hunting down every precious second during the showdown.
Once again, the Swiss watchmaking brand Certina was there to see the action firsthand - wishing their personal heroes luck. Among them was Swiss racer Jeremy Seewer, whose success story has been followed eagerly by the brand since 2017. The 25-year-old's rise continued as he ended the season with a sensational result, finishing in second place.
During the Grand Prix, he also competed against his former teammates in the Monster Energy Wilvo Yamaha MXGP team – another group that Certina were keen to see perform. Since 2018, the watchmaking brand has been a close partner to this racing team. They were ecstatic to hear about the success of racers Gautier Paulin and Arnaud Tonus, who finished in 4th and 5th place in the overall rankings after the final in Shanghai.
Certina's love affair with motorsports is the real thing. After all, these races revolve around hundredths of seconds – a tiny unit of time that defines both the racing and watchmaking worlds. Moreover, Certina's CEO Adrian Bosshard, a former motocross professional himself, has a very personal connection to the adrenaline-fuelled racing circuit: "I'm so pleased with the riders' performances at this year's MXGP. We are extremely proud of our partners – both Jeremy and the entire Monster Energy Wilvo Yamaha MXGP team. We would like to congratulate them on their success in the 2019 racing season!"
